Every tool on Free PDF Toolkit — Merge PDF, Split PDF, Compress PDF, PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF, Compress Image and Resize Image — runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and open-source libraries (pdf-lib, pdf.js, canvas API). When you select a file, it is read by your browser's own code on your own device. No file content is ever transmitted to our servers or to any third party.
This is a deliberate architectural choice. Because we never receive your documents, we cannot store them, share them, lose them in a breach, or use them for any purpose whatsoever.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation is about how personal data is collected and processed. Since file processing happens locally on your device and we receive no document content, there is no personal data from your files for us to act as controller or processor of. We collect:
Standard web-server logs (IP address, pages visited, for security and diagnostics) may be kept by our hosting provider; we do not combine these with anything else and we do not sell or share them.
Tool libraries (pdf-lib, pdf.js) are loaded from the public cdnjs CDN. Your browser fetches these static JavaScript files from cdnjs; cdnjs does not receive your documents. If you prefer, the tools still protect your files even when these libraries load — they only add processing capability, never exfiltration.
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. If advertising is added in the future (e.g. Google AdSense), this policy will be updated to describe it before it goes live.
